PARTNERS IN RHYTHM
Presented by Carolyn Scott

Selecting music for a freestyle routine can be one of the most challenging and most exciting elements in freestyle.  Using each teams individual personality, style, and pace - Carolyn will help participants find the "magic of the match".   This is an active workshop where teams will have the opportunity to "try out" several different music types.  Teams will also learn tips and techniques on how to select music that best highlights the teams strengths and relationship.

FRESSTYLE 101
Presented by MDSA

This workshop will cover the history and basics of freestyle including a review of the different styles and an update on MDSA.

GET UP & DANCE!
Presented by Carolyn Scott & Kris Hurley

Think you have to be a dancer to do freestyle?  Wrong!   Carolyn & Kris will help teams come out of their shell and find their groove.  The workshop will cover the "illusion of dance" and will show teams how to present an rhythmic performance without ever knowing a formal dance step..... Be ready to "Get Up & Dance"!


FREESTYLE VIDEO PREVIEW
Presented by Sara Nugent 

With so many options available, this workshop will give participants the opportunity to preview some of the most popular freestyle training videos.   Participants will have the opportunity to see selected portions of videos by Attila Szukalek, Richard Curtis, Mary Ray, and others...


USING THE "'AHH" FACTOR
Presented by Kris Hurley

This workshop will cover some of the opportunities available for small dogs and will include tips on how to make your small dog appear larger than life.  Topics reviewed will include music selection, handling tips, balancing the performance, choreography and more....


CLICKER TRAINING FOR FREESTYLE
Presented by Jane Wittstock

This workshop will teach teams how to use the clicker to train some of the most popular freestyle moves.


POLISHING YOUR PERFORMANCE
Presented by Barbara West & Kris Hurley

You have you music, you've trained your dog - now what?  This workshop will cover the other important elements that bring the freestyle performance together - including costume selection, understanding your audience, preparing for performances, and more....

CANINE PHYSICAL FITNESS
Presented by Melissa Heeter & Pam Martin

This workshop is a must-see for all dog sport participants.  Melissa and Pam will cover important topics such as strength training (including treadmill and swimming workout), nutrition, and more....

FRISBEE DOG WORKSHOP
Presented by Melissa Heeter & Pam Martin

This lively workshop will introduce participants to the exciting sport of frisbee!  Topics include teaching the toss and fetch and an overview of frisbee competitions.

INTRODUCTION TO FLYBALL
Presented by the Top Dog Racers

Come and learn all about the exciting sport of flyball from one of the top teams in the world - Top Dog Racers!  This workshop is will cover flyball from start to finish including how and where to get involved, and video presentations of this exciting sport.

BEGINNER FLYBALL
Presented by the Top Dog Racers

Here's your chance to try out the "real thing".  The Top Dog Trainers will assist you as you and your speedracer try out real flyball equipment.

The MDSA Freestyle Challenge is a fun way to get started in freestyle.  The relaxed environment and fun classes will provide teams with the opportunity to compete while enjoying the friendship and camaraderie available through freestyle.

The award categories have been selected to represent qualities that MDSA encourages in freestyle performances.
